Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town.
Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town. Decent beaches, both free and paid. A good starting point for hydrofoil travel to Ponza Island. From here there are hydrofoils that will take you there in an hour and a half. Other places only use regular cruise ships, but they offer a four-hour journey. There are many good restaurants with local fresh fish and seafood as well as local wines. A place worth staying for shorter and longer periods.MarekPoland - 10Scored 10

if you want to stay near Rome and have the benefit of a cooler summer atmosphere and a beach holiday this it , far better than staying Ostia or Fiumicino. frequent trains air conditioned and an hours journey rome for targeted visiting.

Just a few instances where they went above and beyond: they made us really good pizza when everything else was closed, they picked us up from the train station and they brought us breakfast to the room every. The place is beautiful! You could not be closer to the beach than this, but it is still high up so you don't have sand anywhere. The kitchen is newly renovated with everything you need to cook for yourself. A double bed and a bunk bed, suitable if you have a family. It was perfectly clean when we arrived and Simona was very friendly and generous. A few snacks and drinks in the kitchen to welcome you in. If we ever come back to Anzio, wed love to return. The pictures really don’t do this place justice, for one the terrace is waaaaay bigger than it’s appears and the beach is literally at your doorstep. Breakfast was served on a lovely terrace overlooking the town and the sea. There is a peaceful pool area. We were able to use beach sunbeds at a discounted rate and Cornelia even invited my wife Sue to a complimentary yoga session. We could not recommend this BnB more highly!
