Hvolsvöllur
Set in Hvolsvöllur, 3.5 km from Seljalandsfoss, Paradise Cave Hostel & Guesthouse offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. A guesthouse with its "own" waterfall? Possible. Located in a beautiful place, next to the mountains, with waterfalls all around. The room was perfect, shared bathrooms as well. The property has contacted me to inform about dinner... we opted in for the lamb soup and it was great, if you have the chance, do not miss it. Throughout the property there are pictures and little fun notes you want to read and see.

Midgard Base Camp features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Hvolsvöllur. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. Providing free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking hostel has a sauna and evening entertainment. I like that it is not your regular party hostel (really don't like those) this place has class! The decor is one of a kind and the staff and amenities are definitely hotel level. It's really cozy which is good after a day of hiking. They have a lot of showers and bathrooms and everything is super clean. Food at the restaurant was marvelous! I asked for the vegan cabbage dish and it blew my mind. Breakfast is worth it, early in the morning you get a wonderful view of the sunrise through the restaurant windows. I'd totally recommend this place for solo travelers, couples or even families (the place is run by the family and friends, everyone is super nice, even the dog is around!)
Selfoss
The rooms in the hostel are equipped with a coffee machine. With a shared bathroom fitted with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at The Coffee House also boast free WiFi. At the accommodation rooms are fitted with bed linen and towels. The bedrooms were small and cozy, just perfect for the single bed I had. The common space was comfy, well lit, and had a kitchen stocked with dishes. The whole facility was very clean, bathroom too. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, even let the guests say hello to their horses. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a small, cozy stay at a farm.

It's a first time for me in a hostel and I can say overall experience was very nice. It's very clean, has a lot of spaces outside the room to chill, bathrooms, showers and a big kitchen with a view to have lunch or breakfast. Nice decoration, well organised, easy access, check in and parking. The view outside is amazing! I do recommend it for a short stay on budget.
It was new, clean and very well maintained. The kitchen is the best hostel kitchen i have seen so far.
Simply the best hostel I've ever been to
Nice, new hotel at great location - served as a perfect "strategic" spot for our travel on the westcoast of Iceland. Room (we had a family room with bunk bed) was comfortable and nicely decorated. The bunk bed, in a side area of the room, was great for our son. Breakfast was simple, bread, , yoghurt, pastries, cold cuts, spread coffee / tea and fruit. But everything fresh and delicious. The food hall on the ground floor is a nice touch! Great food in an and easy going setting.
Beautiful old house with well equipped kitchen and great location in the old part of Vik. There is a large common area and a museum opposite of the hostel. You pick up the key at their main hotel facility next to the road. The hostel is in another building close by.
Great hostel with full kitchen great location
Willing to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. The best hostel I have ever stayed in. Exceptional and great location around the corner from the Black Beach.
Great location, not far from very scenic views. The Barn is definitely a backpacker hostel and is organised as such, with shoe racks outside of each bedroom. Each bed has a place to put their luggage on and there are many coat hangers. It is well organised with many showers, toilets and sinks. I appreciated the complimentary towel. Very warm atmosphere.
One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Busy, but it's a great location, just a few minutes from the black sand beach and basalt columns. Fantastic sunset from there. The room was so spacious (I had a double room), and the bed was SO comfy! The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with all the appliances you'd need. Obviously, the issues of shared bathrooms...waiting for showers, etc, but overall, I highly recommend The Barn.
One of the best hostels i ever been to. Friendly staff, great location, new and clean facilities and the double bed was amazing, super comfortable!
