We came to Norway from New York for a family trip across country from Oslo to Bergen in April 2023 and we had booked in for a night at Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to break up the drive. It was our first trip to Norway and had no idea that we were going to have one of the absolute best experiences of the entire trip together there. The place is simply beautiful. The people there are incredibly attentive and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast is world class. The location is stunning. As a personal side note to the owners: My father came to the U.S. from Kongsberg when he was in his very early 20’s and started his new life and family. Growing up in Southern California where my brother and I were exposed to a lot of the antique Scandinavian items, colors, and style. My father was a committed collector at flea markets and swap meets everywhere, and anytime he came across an old collectible related to his homeland, he would proudly bring it home and share the story of it with us, and then find a place to display it in their home. When we came into the main building to check in to our rooms, I told my 17 and 20 year old daughters, “this…this is the story your Grandfather was trying tell us with all those things”.

Loved the décor of this property and would like to extend our stay but the hotel was fully booked for the following day. sadly we had to leave. Renovated room, clean, spacious, and comfortable. Great shower and amenities. Front desk gentleman was very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Decent wifi speed. Fancy dinner at the restaurant. one of the best hotels we stayed in Norway and would definitely return in the future.

Set in Gaustablikk, 3.4 km from Gaustatoppen, Gausta View Lodge offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Our 2 nights stay was really exceptional. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring Rjukan town and mountains around. The area was calm and cozy. The staff were fantastic, always attentive and eager to assist with any request. And the breakfasts – they’re simply great! Highly recommend.
